The ministries of the Worcester United Methodist Church are merely an extension of our spiritual gifts. We learn, grow, teach, and share the gospel of Jesus Christ in as many different ways as there are people He has created. Each of us is a minister, gifted by God to serve Him and his people.

Our Church Ministries

Children’s Ministries mentors children from birth to know, love and follow Jesus Christ and to help their families become committed Christians.

Sunday School

Sunday School meets every week for elementary school aged children. Children typically sit in the sanctuary through the beginning of the worship service for singing and prayer. A Children’s message is given and then the children go into the church annex for Sunday school, where they sing, learn a Bible lesson and do a project related to the lesson.

Our mission is to build a Christian community where non-religious and nominally religious students are becoming deeply committed Christians. We accomplish this mission by equipping parents, adults and staff, as well as offering contemporary programs to lead students into a deeply committed faith.

Youth Group/Teen Ministry

Youth Group meets on Sunday evenings during the school year at the church. It is geared toward students in 7th-12th grade and typically begins with a multi-media based lesson and discussion, which is followed by some fellowship in the Doty Memorial School gymnasium for some game time. The group takes trips throughout the year to concerts, camp, and help out local folks in the community. They are active volunteers at the church for various fundraisers and Vacation Bible School.

We’re committed to equipping adults with authentic, challenging education about Christ, His church, and His teachings. Men’s Ministry is dedicated to providing men with pathways for spiritual growth through Christian fellowship, effective discipleship, and mission outreach. Our Women’s Ministry seeks to evangelize, encourage and equip women in their personal walk with Jesus Christ through Christian fellowship, learning and service.

Adult Studies

Sunday mornings at 9: 15 AM we gather together in a small group setting to share, learn, fellowship, and grow together as Christians. Through reading and sharing we learn more about ourselves, each other, and the God we serve. This is the essence of community.

United Methodist Women

United Methodist Women is the largest denominational faith organization for women with approximately 800,000 members whose mission is fostering spiritual growth, developing leaders and advocating for justice. Members raise up to $20 million each year for programs and projects related to women, children and youth in the United States and in more than 100 countries around the world. Worcester UMW meets the third Wednesday of every month at the church.

Men’s Group

Men’s Group meets the third Tuesday of the month, at 6:30 PM. There typically is a pot luck meal and time for chatting and other activities. This is a very informal gathering and all men are welcome to join us. We occasionally do other outings and activities.
